Rare late 19th-century uranium opaline glass soliflore, or vase une-fleur, of an unusual bulbous form with a tall slender neck. The soft, satin-like, non-glossy opaline surface is delicately decorated with hand-painted botanical motifs and a bird in flight, with fine gilded bands around the neck. The vase exhibits a striking green fluorescence under 395 nm UV light. A particularly unusual and collectible example of late 19th-century decorative glass.
